Colorectal Cancer: Who's at risk?

*AGE
Some 90% of colorectal cancers occur in persons aged 50 and above.

*FAMILY OR PAST HISTORY
Particularly of colorectal polyps or colorectal cancer.

*DIET
Persons on a low fibre and high fat diet are eight times more likely to develop colorectal cancer. There is convincing evidence that vegetables reduce risk.

*ASPIRIN AND NSAIDS (group of painkillers)

*SEDENTARY LIFESTYLE AND OBESITY

*INFLAMMATORY BOWEL DISEASE
Persons suffering from ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease have a higher chance of developing colorectal cancer.

*DIABETECS
